The public is the primary user and funder of the transportation network. In order to ensure the public’s needs are adequately addressed, federal mandate declares that the public should have a meaningful role in the regional transportation decision-making process. As a result, the Ocala Marion Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) created the Public Participation Plan (PPP) formerly the Public Involvement Plan (PIP).
The PPP documents the goals, objectives and strategies for ensuring all individuals have every opportunity to be involved in transportation planning decisions. The process is designed to provide a transparent and open planning process that is free from any cultural, social, racial or economic barriers and offers multiple opportunities for public participation and input.
